Gourmet Dessert Lounge Coming To Downtown Everett
My Everett News: February 27th, 2015.
“Frost is not a doughnut shop but a gourmet dessert lounge,” explains Tarek Nasser. He’s the manager of marketing and sales for Frost. Earlier this week they announced the company’s second Frost location will be in downtown Everett. The flagship store is in Mill Creek and Nasser says the Everett location will be smaller but still feature an on-site bakery. Frost began in 2009 when three friends looked around the Seattle area and couldn’t find a gourmet doughnut option that rivaled those on the east coast. Their fame took off after they were featured by the Food Network and now in addition to their store in Mill Creek they have three satellite cafes inside the Microsoft campus in Redmond. You can also now get their doughnuts at the Everett Costco. In addition to doughnuts, Frost also makes cupcakes and french macarons. The recipes are all original to Frost and their baked goods are all handmade. “It’s a three-day process for the french macarons,” said Nasser. “People travel a long way to pick them up.”
Nasser would not reveal their exact location yet other than in downtown Everett. He says the company sees Everett as an area that is changing and progressing. In addition to all of the apartments going up in downtown Everett they were also attracted by the Waterfront Place project going in at the Everett Marina. The store will be open from early morning to late afternoon. As far as it being a gourmet dessert lounge, “These are luxurious, over the top desserts for people who want to splurge and treat themselves,” said Nasser. “There’s no place in Everett who does what we do.”
Nasser thinks the shop will open in mid to late spring but doesn’t have an exact date or the number of employees they plan to hire yet. You can find out more about them on their Facebook page or better yet taste them for yourself at their location in the Mill Creek Town Center.
